gFree Church has sponsored the Cub Scout Pack 44 and Boy Scout Troop 44 for nearly 20 years.  We believe in the program’s values and development of boys into men.  We are pleased to provide this great opportunity to boys from Kindergarten through High School.

Cub Scout Pack 44

For boys from Kindergarten through 5th grade

Since its beginning, the Cub Scout program has been a fun and educational experience concerned with values. Besides providing a positive place where boys can enjoy safe, wholesome activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service. Cub Scouting means “doing.” Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings.

Pack 44 meets weekly on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 pm from September to April

Monthly activities and summer camps are available from May to August.

For more information about Cub Scouts or how to join, you can contact the church at 342-4520 or email cubscouts@gfree.org.

Boy Scouts Troop 44

For boys from 6th grade through 12th grade

Boy Scouts is a program that develops young men by building character and skills for life.  Troop 44 works on life skills through merit badges.  It builds maturity through various trips and challenges faced together.  It builds leadership by using the patrol method and making this a boy led troop with the guidance of adult leaders.

Troop 44 meets every Tuesday evening from 7:30 -9:00 pm from October to July.

They have many different types of outings including Boy Scout camp in the summer.

For more information about the program or how to join, check out the website www.bsatroop44.com or please contact Scoutmaster, Ethan Dixon, at (814) 287-1038.

Venturing

What is Venturing?

It is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 through 20 years of age and have completed the eighth grade.  Venturing’s purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

Why Venturing at gFree Church?  We believe in equipping the young people of the Philipsburg and surrounding areas for not only their future but the future of many generations to come.  Venturing brings together adults and young people to create experiences that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.  Many adults from the gFree church are involved in Crew 44 because they believe in the leadership potential of our young people.

If you have any questions or want more information about joining Crew 44 contact Crew Advisor Ethan Dixon at (814) 287-1038.
